Kripalaya in tears : Send Off Program for Fr. Vincent Furtado
On the eve of 26th October the Community of Kripalaya was in tears of
sadness. It was a day of send off for our dearest former provincial,
great visionary and missionary, a sign of simplicity and humility, Very
Rev. Fr. Vincent Furtado. There was a melodious goodbye song sung by the
brothers which moved everyone in tears. Fr. Santa Lopez the rector of
Kripalaya spoke the words of gratitude. Responding to the situation Fr.
Vincent too spoke few words of encouragement and asked the community to
pray for him for further mission in Sri Lanka. There was special
honouring for him and delicious meals arranged as a gratitude for the
service that Fr. Vincent Furtado rendered here. Fr. Vincent was a
professor, spiritual director, epitome of simplicity and humility,
vessel of knowledge, a good guide, ever available, more than that a
loving brother. We miss you dear father. We the community members wish
him all the best and assure our prayers. God bless you and keep you.
