We, Capuchin Krishika Seva Kendra, Social Work unit is happy to share with you all our humanitarian service to the least ones of the society. With the support and cooperation we received from the good hearted donors and agencies we could reach out to various vulnerable segments of Belthangady taluk.

Vimukti children’s summer camp
Capuchin Krishika Seva Kendra Dayalbagh Grahmaabhivridhi Yojane Vimukti Laila has conducted Vimukti children’s summer camp in Anugraha School, Ujire. Capuchin Krishika Kendra secretary Rev. Fr. Naveen D’ Souza presided over the function. Anugraha pre-univaersity college Principal Rev. Fr. Robert D’ Souza, Vimukti Mahila Okoota President Mrs. Vimala, Headmistress Mrs. Janet Frank, Children Representative Mrs. Mallika, and Br. Rohan Lobo were present for this function. The treasurer of institute Mrs. Laveena explained the purpose of the programme, Mrs. Padmanabha welecomed the dignitaries and Mrs. Rohini thanked all of them for their gracious presence.

The programmes were conducted for the children on time-management, personality - development Mimicry, Songs, stage-heart and different types of programmes were held in this function. For this programme the resources persons were Jayaram K. Mundaje, Ram Paliyaan, and Br. Rohan Lobo. The 150 children were present for the programme.

Closing Ceremony
The main Guest of the closing ceremony Rev. Fr. Joseph Mascahrenes, the director of Anugraha School, Mrs. Bhavyashree children’s representative, and Mrs. Prema, the secretary of Mother’s committee were present for this programme. SR coordinator Hilda Crasta introduced the purpose of the programme; Mrs. Priyadharshini welcomed the dignitaries, M.C was done by Santhosh and Dhanalakshmi and Rakshit thanked all children for their active participation.

Distribution various infrastructure to the poor schools
Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra (CKSK) organized the programme of distribution of seeds, play articles for Aganawadis; band set, water guard for the backward Government schools. Mr. Vasantha Bangera , the MLA of Belthangady Taluka, Mr. Jaganath , Block resource centre Belthagandy, Mr. Prakash Shetty, Panchayat development Officer, Laila, Mrs. Nagaveene women and children welfare officer were the dignitaries present for this programme. Fr. Vinod Mascaharenes the director presided over the function. Mrs. Mamatha Rai, the education coordinator warmly welcomed the dignitaries on the Dias and the teachers, School Development and monitoring committee (SDMC) members and Child wellbeing Committee (CWBC) members then she explained the very purpose of the programme.

Mr. Vasantha Bangera the MLA of Belthangady Taluk inaugurated the programme by distributing the walker and tricycle to physically challenged children of Nada School. Then he addressed the gathering and thanked for the humanitarian works done by the Dayalbagh, CKSK fathers. He said that Dayalbagh has been working for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized since several decades and we all are indebted to this Organization which silently goes on creating smiles on the disadvantaged segments of the society. It has been remained as charitable institute for the coastal region for more than 30 years. Finally he thanked for all the services that this Institute is rendering to Belthangady Taluk and wished all the best for the future undertakings and assured his support in whatever capacities the Organization is in need of to reach out the vulnerable segments of Btlthangady Taluka. Fr. Vinod Mascharenes, the director honored with mementos of SDMC and CWBC members for their self-less sacrifice for creating child-friendly atmosphere in their own school and villages and thus providing protection and space for the development of children. The various schools such as Barangaya, Guripalla, Thekkaru, Koyyur cross, Mallebettu, Navura, Hodikaru, Padagandy, Chamudinagara, Adarshanagara, Gerukatte, Manjotti, Bellalu, Indabettu, Mularoo and Kolpaddy SDMC and CWBC members were facilitated for their humane service towards the children.. Mrs Nagaveni, the women and children welfare officer distributed the play materials to the Agawandi teachers.

Mr. Prakash, Panchayat development Officer Laila, distributed the books to pre-university colleges such as Ujire, Belthagady and Pujalkatte. Later Mr. Prakash addressed the gathering and thanked the Capuchin fathers of Dayalbagh for the humanitarian service rendered to the most vulnerable children, people of Belthangady Taluka. Further he said that the Organization has played a pivotal role in eradicating poverty and educating the children of the Taluka. It must be noted and always appreciated for the openness and sincerity of capuchin fathers to reach out the needy without any caste or class barriers. This Organization very much committed and hard worker yet works silently without expecting any reward mingles with poor of the poorest and this has to be appreciated very much. Finally he wished all the best for the future undertakings of the Organization. Mr. Jaganath, Block resource centre Belthagandy magnanimously praised for the charitable work done by CKSK. He said that CKSK is one of the centers which educates the children and shows the ways and means to shape the future leaders. He thanked Fr. Vinod, the director and the staff members for their self-less service towards the deprived and excluded ones of the Taluka.

The director Fr. Vinod Mascharenes explained the goal, purpose of the Institute. He said in his presidential address that children of our schools are real active and energetic wealth of our nation. Hence let’s invest our financial resources on these deprived children and motivate these excluded children to dream about their better future. He commended the glorious services of the SDMCs, CWBCs by saying teachers Gurus but they receive salary, you are though not called Gurus and you work for without salary because you are much more than Gurus, in fact you all SDMCs and CWBCs members are Fathers and Mothers to all these vulnerable children. The need of the hour is support these children to grow healthy and in friendly atmosphere. To achieve this every citizen of the Taluka should work for the children and for their development. CKSK does good work around Belthangady taluk because of the support SDMCs and CWBCs members always render. Finally he called upon all the gathered to double the efforts and resource in reaching out the excluded children. He also thanked all the staff members for making this program successful and memorable one. Mrs. Divya the office staff gave vote of thanks.

Child Get together/Sponsor Day
On 22nd June 2014 Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra ® organized a program at Vimukti centre to the enrolled children belonging to different parts of Belthangady Taluka to motivate and encourage the children for sponsorship activities. It began with stage program at 10.30 am with a prayer song by children. Ms. Lavina, Federation accountant welcomed the gathering and briefed the audience on the purpose of the program. The Mothers’ committee Representative Ms. Shobha was on the stage and she wished all the children well and asked them to participate in all the activities organized by the Organization. Then the Sponsored child Ms. Shobha addressed the gathering by her valuable words how she is encouraged through the Organization and now she has completed engineering through self-less support and sacrifice made by CKSK and ChildFund India. From the past 14 years she is helped and encouraged in different ways to improve her personality development through various benefits and further she said that she cannot forget the Organization who has contributed a lot for what she is today. Rev. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas the Director addressed the gathering and symbolically distributed umbrella and cloth materials to the poor school gong children. He also motivated the children and parents to get the benefits by participating in different activities conducted by ChildFund India through the hard efforts of Capuchin Krishk Seva Kendra®. The benefit that each child receives is not only through means of money but also by participating actively in the welfare programmes. He explained the participants about the sponsorship programme, how it functions with its aims and objectives. He said in his address that sponsor is not a rich man but just like one of us. The only difference is s/he has an attitude of saving and supporting the less fortunate ones. Hence it’s our duty to remember and thanks these unseen good hearted angels for all their support and generous care that they show through their contribution. He also thanked all the participants for their support through participating in all the programmes. Then Ms.Neena, MIS coordinator conducted various activities to the children such as lucky games, quiz, puzzles to know their sponsor names. Towards the end of the programme every child received an umbrella and school uniform material given by the Organization. Ms. Neena gave the vote of thanks. Ms. Hilda, SR staff coordinated the programme. There were more than 400 children and 200 parents who participated and thanked all their dear and loving sponsors.

Nutritional support to TB HIV & Malnourished children
The Organization (CKSK) had identified 87 families with TB, HIV, and malnourished children. To support all these vulnerable children and parents CKSK organized on 20th June a programme called Nutritional support to TB, HIV and malnourished children. The programme inaugurated by the district Panachayat president Koragappa Nayak by distributing financial aid and nutritional food grains to the infected children and parents. In his inaugural talk he commended the humanitarian service rendered by CKSK. He gratefully recalled Fr. Theophilus Pereira, the founder of CKSK who won the hearts of many by supported marginalized and poor farmers. He requested all the gathered participants to make use all the benefits gratefully that the Organization provides. The Resource person Ms. Mamatha explained and demonstrated in detail how to take care of the health and how to use the various food grains and thus to improve the health condition. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas in his presidential speech asked all the participants to take care of their health and of their children by using day today all these given food grains well. He also requested all the participants to cooperate with Organizational staff whenever they come to take the feedback report to maintain their health records. Ms. Joyce coordinated the programme and Ms . Jalaja gave vote of thanks.

Supporting Children for higher Education
On 14th June CKSK organized fees distribution to the most likely to be dropped out poor college students. The programme was inaugurated by sharing the success stories by the six participants who availed financial support last year for higher education. Last year 55 poor youth supported by higher education among them 15 for nursing, 5 for engineering, 6 for MSW, 3 for LLB, 10 for B.Ed courses, 6 for humanitarian courses and 10 for general nursing. Those who are completed the higher education came forward to thank the Organization and assured the support to the poor children in their own capacity. The 50 youths of this year came forward and shared their dreams with audience. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas, by distributing financial to all the poor youth, motivated them by his own example of how he studied in the government school and dreamt to achieve something. Hence he said not to worry about the poor family condition but work harder to realize their dreams and wished them every success in their future studies. The programme Staff Ms Divya coordinated the programme and Ms Mamatha gave the vote of thanks

The enrolled children parents’ committee meeting
Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra(R) organized the enrolled children parents’ committee meeting on June 26. More than 100 participants were present for this great event. Mrs Shila, the Mother’s Committee Supervisor, presided over this function. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas, the director, addressed the gathering and said that the struggle we take to educate the children in around belthagady taluk from many years. He also requested to show co-operation and support from the participants to the animators. Moreover he said that the parents should show much interest in educating their children to become good citizens of this country. Ms Hilda SC coordinator coordinated the programme
