The scholastic year of the Postulancy 2014-15 was officially inaugurated on 17th June 2014. Out of the 19 brothers who were to start the year, 18 were present and one was not able to report on due date because of sickness. Out of these 15 brothers are from the Holy Trinity Province (11 from Karnataka, 3 from Infant Jesus Delegation of Nagaland – Manipur and 1 from Christ the King Delegation of Mizoram – Tripura – Silchar) and 4 brothers are from Krist Jyothi Province, Delhi.

The postulants arrived on different dates and they came from different houses of formation, such as, Ujire, Moodubelle, North – East and Delhi, etc. It is a combined group from various cultural backgrounds and having different languages. But there is a great joy to see them all speaking one language - the language of love and living one culture - the gospel culture.

June 16, 2014 was a day of recollection and it was animated by the Director, Fr. John Fernandes and the Asst. Director, Fr. Joel Lopez. The theme of the recollection was: The gift of Vocation. Br. Joel spoke about the call and vocation from the biblical point of view and Br. John spoke about the call and vocation of St. Francis of Assisi in its various stages. The day was concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

June 17, 2014 was the official day for the inauguration of the scholastic year of Postulancy 2014-15. Fr. Gerald Lobo, the guardian officiated the Eucharistic celebration and gave a meaningful reflection on the need of adequate formation. The postulants and the staff members gathered in the class room for the opening of the year. It began with the hymn to the Holy Spirit followed by lighting of the lamp. Fr. Joel gave a fitting reflection on the reading and urged the postulants to have the attitude of King Solomon who prayed for the gift of wisdom. Fr. Gerald in his speech encouraged the young men to put their heart and soul in everything they do and to love the community and to consider themselves as part of the community. Fr. John introduced all the staff members and the subjects they would be teaching. He also spoke of the nature and scope of Postulancy and requested the brothers to love their vocation. Br. Melroy, a postulant on behalf of the group gave vote of thanks and promised that they would live a good life and abide by the rules and regulations of the community. Thereafter we had the elections to the Dean and other port-folios. All enjoyed a good meal that was prepared on this occasion. On the very day we began Yoga classes guided by Mr. Kushalappa. The young men are healthy and lively. The community of Monte Mariano congratulates these brothers and wishes them all the best. And we request the brothers of the Province to keep praying for these men so that they remain strong and firm in their call.
