Inauguration of the new academic year 2014-2015.
17th June, 2014 was the day of inauguration of the new academic year 2014-2015. The day included election of the new dean and changing of portfolios among the brothers. The distribution of the different parish ministries also gave much joy to the brothers as they were eager to render their service with their talents in the liturgical celebrations of the diocese. At 11.30 am we had the Holy Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Rector in his homily emphasized the three aspect of the work: work as an activity, working together and working joyfully.

In the evening at 3 p.m. the lectio-brevis was held in the auditorium. The ceremony was inaugurated with a devotional song sung by the brothers and by lighting the Indian traditional lamp by the professors on the dais. The key note address was given by Fr. Dominic Vas, OCD who spoken on the relevance of philosophy in today’s context. He emphasized the need to have a philosophical mind set-up to learn philosophy. Philosophy is not like learning history but it is a search for truth using our reasoning capacity. Fr. Rocky, the dean of studies, elaborately explained the new calendar and some of the changes made during this academic year 2014-15. Speaking on the occasion Fr. Santa Lopes, the Rector, said to study and philosophize we need silence and contemplation and only in silence we can achieve our desired goal and become good philosophers . The lectio brevis concluded with the Kripalaya Anthem sung by all the brothers.
