Sports Day celebrated at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
If you can give your son or
daughter only one gift, let it be enthusiasm; to enthuse new spirit of
sportsmanship in the children the sports day at Assisi school Chikodi, was
organized with great style and vigour. The entire ground was adorned with
colourful flags. The school band accorded a special welcome to the Chief
guest Miss. Hilda D’Souza, headmistress of Kalmeshwar Kivud Education trust
and Rev. Fr, Veerus being the president of the function. The squads marched
along the ground and the salute was received by the Principal Fr. Richie,
the President, the Chief Guest. The ribbon drill and the saree drill added
colour to the sports day celebration. The sports torch was moved forward by
Prime minister Vaibhav Deshpande along with four squad captains. Torch was
received by the chief guest. She declared the sports day of Assisi School
open and highlighted the importance of co curricular for the development of
a fine personality. Fr. Veerus brought out the culture of sports as a day to
day activity. The Principal remained with the students to enjoy every
performance of little Milkhas and Ushas. Rahul Gidaveer from High school
section and Isha Jain from Primary Section became the champions. All the
winners were felicitated by the teachers. The closing in ceremony ended with
all the eight flags bringing down at the same time and handing over to the
guests Sr. Kulandai, Mr. Nadaf and Mr. Ambi.
