20TH DECEMBER 2012 was a joyous day for all of us the friars of Holy
Trinity Province Karnataka, India. We thank God for his choicest
blessing he has showered upon us. On this day the new house ‘YESU NILAYA’
at Palya, Hassan District was blessed and inaugurated by Most Rev.
Anthony Swami, Bishop of Chikmagalur. The inauguration ceremony began at
11:30 a. m and continued with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist
officiated by Most Revered Bishop along with more than 25 concelebrants,
capuchins as well as diocesan fathers of Chikmagalur diocese and for
about 150 faithful along with religious brothers and sisters. During the
Mass we specially remembered to pray for Mr. Sigmond Sequeira who
donated to us 2 acres of Land to begin this house at Palya. His lordship
also congratulated Mr. Sigmond Sequeira for his generosity in donating
the land for the good cause. After the Mass Rev. Fr. Vincent G. Furtado,
the Provincial Minster of Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka honored the
Bishop with garland and shawl for granting us the permission to have
this house in his diocese and obliging to come and bless this house on
this day. Secondly he honoured Mr. Sigmond Sequeira, the donor of the
land and Fr. Charles Saldana who developed this land by constantly
visiting and finally he thanked many other people who directly and
indirectly helped us to have this house and make our presence possible
at Yesu Nilaya, Palya. After the celebration there was a fellowship
meal.
