Annual Retreat at St. Clare of Assisi church Pothnal: “Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays.” There was two-day retreat on the preparation of the celebration of
Easter for the parishioners of Pothnal, Raichur, attended by around 600
people. It was powerful and meaningful, for everyone who came and had
experienced it. The place was sanctified by the Holy Spirit and the people
felt deeply nourished by it. In this two-day retreat, the people were
completely taken up by the preaching and teaching of the pastors Bro.Henry
and Bro.Thomas, who came all the way from Bangalore. Many reflections were
preached but among them, sin and reconciliation was what the people liked
the most. “Love takes one person to forgive, it takes two persons to be
reunited”, during these days the Blessed sacrament was exposed, confessions
were held, the faithful repented for their sins and asked for pardon from
one another with tears of sorrow, which later turned to joy. The spirit of
the Lord enlightened the preachers and many people received the grace of
healing, of both physical and spiritual.
“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, man cannot live without
spiritual life” says Buddha. So too, the people who participated in this
retreat, really felt satisfaction in their spiritual life.
We thank the Lord God Almighty for his abundant blessings and support to
have this wonderful retreat and for everything that went on well. We humbly
ask you dear brothers and sisters to seek God continuously and unceasingly
in your life because we are all His children and he cares for us by his
merciful love and compassion.
